TV Remote ("the app") is built to work entirely on your own device and your own Wi-Fi network. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the app touches and what it does with it.
Short version: we don't have a server, we don't collect analytics, we don't use ads or trackers, and we never see your TV, your voice, or your payment details. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone or over your local network.
We — the developer of TV Remote — do not operate any backend servers, and the app does not send any data to us. There is no account, sign-up, or profile of any kind.
To find and control TVs and streaming devices (Android TV, Google Cast, AirPlay, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, VIZIO, LG, and DIAL-compatible TVs), the app discovers devices on your Wi-Fi network using Bonjour/mDNS and connects to them directly. This traffic stays on your local network — it goes from your phone to your TV, not to us or any third party.
Pairing information (such as device certificates or pairing codes used by some TV platforms) is stored securely in your device's Keychain, on your device only. It is never transmitted anywhere except to the TV it belongs to.
If you use voice search or voice typing, the app accesses your microphone and uses Apple's Speech framework to turn what you say into text, which is then sent to your TV as a search query or typed input — the same way a button press would be. Recognition runs on your device whenever your iPhone supports on-device recognition. We do not record, store, or receive your voice audio or transcripts.
TV Remote Pro is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. All payment information (card details, billing address, Apple ID) is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). We never see or store your payment details — the app only receives a confirmation of what you've purchased, so it can unlock Pro features.
The app stores a small amount of data locally to function: saved TV connections, pairing keys (in Keychain), app preferences, and the timing of the free trial window. This data stays on your device (and, for widget support, is shared only between the app and its own widget via an iOS App Group). Deleting the app removes it.
The app does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The only third party involved in using the app is Apple, for App Store distribution and in-app purchases.
TV Remote is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
You can revoke local network, microphone, or speech recognition access at any time in iOS Settings → TV Remote. Voice features simply won't work if microphone/speech access is off; TV discovery and control require local network access to function.
